Modern Inventor, Lindsay Albanese, rebrands TOPTOTE by Lindsay Albanese website and Launches New Online Marketplace the fileist
A Revolutionary New Forum that Spotlights and Sells Female-Invented Products
September 14, 2022 [New York, NY]—TV personality and fashion stylist turned inventor, Lindsay Albanese is pleased to announce the social commerce launch of her compelling new venture, the fileist.com,, formerly known as TOPTOTE by Lindsay Albanese, powered by GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) that spotlights and sells female-invented and innovated products.
After spending 17 years as a celebrity fashion and TV stylist, Albanese took a chance in 2018 by self-funding her namesake company, Lindsay Albanese. She launched the business with her own invention, TOPTOTE, the U.S. patented hat holder that sold out at Nordstrom in-store and online less than two weeks after launch.
Following the success of TOPTOTE and experiencing first-hand all that went into developing a new business venture, Albanese realized there was a lack of support, resources, and community for ambitious female inventors like herself. “The journey of inventing and patenting an idea is a forgotten topic in the female entrepreneurship narrative,” says Albanese. “There isn’t a support system or curated destination that cultivates and nurtures these ideas.”
“The fileist sees invention as an art and is a place where small and mighty, self-funded brands can dream big.” – Lindsay Albanese, Founder of the fileist
With a curated offering of serviceable style goods such as Equipt weighted wearables and Nori portable steamers, the fileist is fostering a female-led community for a new, upcoming generation of entrepreneurs who are changing the face of American products.
To celebrate the launch, the fileist is entering into a powerful retail experience and partnership with SHOWFIELDS, one of the most interesting stores in the world. Within the experience, GoDaddy will provide its award-winning Smart Terminals and card readers to help the featured female inventors sell their products through GoDaddy Payments functionality.
“Our aim is for our partnership with Lindsay and the fileist to empower female inventors to turn their bright ideas into patented reality,” said Fara Howard, GoDaddy’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Lindsay’s vision aligns perfectly to GoDaddy’s mission to empower entrepreneurs everywhere, making opportunity more inclusive for all.”
Located in the heart of Soho on Bond Street in New York City, the six-month pop up will open on Wednesday, September 28th. The 180 square-foot art gallery, located on the first floor of SHOWFIELDS, will highlight four female invented brands including Albanese’s TOPTOTE, Equipt, Nori, and Fend for an IRL shopping experience.
